Water reuse

Water that has been used once can often be reused. Evides Industriewater develops sustainable purification solutions that give residual water from your processes a new function — good for your business operations and the environment.

What is water reuse?

Water reuse means that purified wastewater or residual water is used again in the production process. This often requires an additional purification step, tailored to the desired quality. Examples include treating effluent, cooling water, or condensate into process water or demineralized water.

Where is water reused?

Reuse is interesting for companies that:

  • Wanting to save water through circular use
  • Having limited access to fresh water
  • have effluent or condensate available
  • want to reduce their carbon footprint

Examples are the chemical industry, power plants, and food processing companies.

Benefits of water reuse

By consuming less water, we contribute to a more sustainable future together with our customers. To make water suitable for reuse, an additional purification step is often required. An integrated approach to all aspects, such as environmental impact, energy consumption, costs, available alternatives, and business objectives, ultimately determines the most sustainable solution.

Possibilities for reuse

In some areas, water reuse is urgently needed because other sources have limited capacity. In other places, it offers companies additional production capacity without the need for extra feed water. We have the in-house expertise and experience to develop a sustainable purification solution for every company. Moreover, with innovative techniques, we are able to:

  • to recover valuable components from wastewater. The project by Yara and Evides is a good example of this.
  • to treat various water streams (effluent, condensate, cooling water) to a quality that can be used in your processes.
