Mayor of Copenhagen on working visit at NEREUS pilot in Rotterdam
Mayor of Copenhagen, Frank Jensen, together with a delegation of 20 people paid a working visit to Rotterdam. The program included a visit to Uit Je Eigen Stad and the NEREUS pilot of Evides Industriewater.
Copenhagen was voted number 1 in the Siemens European Green City Index and was European Green Capital in 2014. The Danish capital has the ambition to be the first CO2-neutral capital by 2025. The delegation from Copenhagen was very interested in the NEREUS project and deeply impressed.
Based on the knowledge gained from the former RINEW project and an Interreg grant, the follow-up research NEREUS has recently started. In this project Dutch, Belgian, French and English partners are working work together. In the pilot plant on the grounds of city farm Uit Je Eigen Stad in Rotterdam-West researchers are testing the recovery of energy from waste water and new techniques for the recovery of phosphate, cellulose, nitrogen and irrigation water.
Evides Industriewater, inventive.
